6 बाद में एसाव ने कनान छोड़ दिया और याकूब से दूर एक अलग देश में जा बसा। + वह अपनी पत्नियों, बेटे-बेटियों और घराने के बाकी सब लोगों को लेकर वहाँ चला गया। वह अपने साथ अपने सभी जानवर और अपनी पूरी दौलत ले गया जो उसने कनान में हासिल की थी।
