6. The Department has called for a review of the existing requirement of affidavits and attestation by Gazetted Officers, and replacement by self-certification.

VIII. प्रक्रिया का सरलीकरणः पासपोर्ट जमा करने की प्रक्रिया को आसान बनाने के लिए (क) पते के सबूत के तौर पर पंजीकृत किराया करार, (ख) राजपत्रित अधिकारियों द्वारा सत्यापन की आवश्यकता की बजाय स्व-सत्यापित दस्तावेज, (ग) निजी क्षेत्र के अनुसूचित भारतीय बैंकों तथा क्षेत्रीय ग्रामीण बैंकों द्वारा जारी फोटोयुक्त पासबुकों को पते और पहचान के रूप में स्वीकार करने जैसे अनेक उपाय किए गए हैं।

प्रक्रिया का सरलीकरणः पासपोर्ट आवेदन जमा करने की प्रक्रिया को सरल बनाने हेतु कई कदम उठाए गए हैं जैसे (क) निवास प्रमाण पत्र के रूप में पंजीकृत रेंट करार, (ख) दस्तावेजों को राजपत्रित सरकारी अधिकारी द्वारा सत्यापित करने के स्थान पर स्व प्रमाणित करना, (ग) पहचान तथा निवास प्रमाण के रूप में अनुसूचित निजी क्षेत्र भारतीय बैंकों तथा क्षेत्रीय ग्रामीण बैंकों द्वारा जारी की गई फोटो पासबुक को स्वीकृत किया गया है।
