1. The manner in which the trail of the riot cases had proceeded is unthinkable in any civilised country.

2. I do not deny having taken part in the fight but I did so as a member of the regular fighting forces of the Provisional Government of Free India who waged war for the liberation of their motherland according to the rules of civilised warfare .

में इस युद्ध में भी भाग लेने से इंकार नहीं करता , लेकिन मैंने आजाद हिंद की अंतरिम सरकार की उन नियमित युद्धरत सेनाओं के सदस्य के तौर पर ऐसा किया , जिन्होंने अपनी मातृभूमि की आजादी के लिए युद्ध के सभ्य नियमों के अनुसार ही लडाई छेडी थी .

Answer: Well there is no place for violence in our democracy, therefore any act of violence is to be condemned, on that point I am absolutely clear that nothing is gained by pursuit of violence, howsoever angry one may feel, there are more civilised ways of expressing one's anger and frustration.

उत्तर : हमारे लोकतंत्र में हिंसा के लिए कोई स्थान नहीं है, इसलिए हिंसा के किसी भी कृत्य की निंदा करनी चाहिए। इस बिंदु पर मैं बिल्कुल स्पष्ट हूं कि हिंसा के रास्ते से कुछ भी हासिल नहीं हो सकता, चाहे कोई कितना भी क्रोध कर ले। अपने क्रोध एवं निराशा को व्यक्त करने के अनेक सभ्य तरीके हैं।
