1. 24 “‘Eʹlam+ is there with all her hordes around her grave, all of them fallen by the sword.

24 वहाँ एलाम+ भी पड़ा है और उसकी कब्र के आस-पास उसकी भीड़ की कब्रें हैं जिन्हें तलवार से मार डाला गया है।

2. May Joʹab’s house never be without a man suffering from a discharge+ or a leper+ or a man working at the spindle* or one falling by the sword or one in need of food!”

+ योआब के घराने में सदा ऐसे लोग रहें जो रिसाव से पीड़ित हों,+ कोढ़ी हों,+ तकली चलानेवाले हों,* खाने के मोहताज हों या वे तलवार से मारे जाएँ!”

3. 39 And when he had driven them afar off, he returned and they watered their flocks and returned them to the pasture of the king, and then went in unto the king, bearing the arms which had been smitten off by the sword of Ammon, of those who sought to slay him; and they were carried in unto the king for a testimony of the things which they had done.

39 और इस प्रकार उसने उन्हें दूर भगा दिया, वह वापस आया, और उन्होंने अपने पशुओं को पानी पिलाया और उन्हें राजा के चारागाह में वापस ले गए, और फिर राजा के पास गए, उन लोगों के हाथों को दिखाते हुए जो अम्मोन की तलवार द्वारा काट दिए गए थे जिन्होंने उसे मारने का प्रयास किया था; और जो उन्होंने किया था उसकी गवाही के रूप में वे इन चीजों को राजा के पास ले गए ।
