Both sides fully understand the importance of the enhancement of the bilateral relationship in the field of civil aviation, which would contribute to promotion of mutual exchange, and decided to strengthen cooperation including the acceleration of Preparatory Survey for New Dholera International Airport Development Project.

45. It was also agreed to hold the next round of civil aviation talks at an early date, to examine various proposals on the table, including the increase of the capacity entitlements for the air carriers of the two countries, in a constructive and forward-looking spirit.

This year in April when the Minister for Civil Aviation Shri Ajit Singh visited Singapore, the two countries signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral air services arrangement which enhances, by 10%, the capacity entitlement considering the increased economic activity between India and Singapore which requires better air connectivity.

इस वर्ष अप्रैल में जब नागर विमानन मंत्री श्री अजीत सिंह ने सिंगापुर का दौरा किया, दोनों देशों ने द्विपक्षीय वायु सेवा व्य वस्थाअ पर एक नए समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्तागक्षर किए, जिससे भारत और सिंगापुर के बीच बढ़े हुए आर्थिक कार्यकलापों को ध्यामन में रखते हुए क्षमता पात्रता में 10 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि की गई है, जिसके लिए बेहतर वायु सपर्क आवश्याक है।

47. * To support growing economic links, the Prime Ministers also recognised the importance of exploring the expansion of air connectivity to support new and commercially viable air links between and beyond both countries, and to broaden cooperation in the aviation, maritime and logistics sectors, including through capacity building and the sharing of best practices.

* बढ़ते आर्थिक संबंधों के समर्थन के लिए, प्रधानमंत्रियों ने वायु-मार्ग जुड़ाव के विस्तार हेतु कार्य करने की दिशा में ध्यान दिलाया ताकि दोनों देशों के बीच व्यवहार्य नवीन और वाणिज्यकीय हवाई संपर्कों का निर्माण किया जा सके और खोज के बीच है और हवाई संपर्क का समर्थन करने के महत्व को स्वीकार किया, और विमानन, समुद्री और रसद क्षेत्रों में क्षमता निर्माण और सर्वोत्तम चलन के आदान-प्रदान के माध्यम से सहयोग को व्यापक बनाया जा सके.

48. The Government has used every opportunity, including during the India-U.S. Aviation Security Group meeting, to stress that while it respects the right of every country to institute necessary security procedures at their airports, it should be done in a manner that does not cause inconvenience to bona fide passengers, takes into account internationally recognised diplomatic courtesies and privileges, and is sensitive to cultural and religious sentiments of travellers.

सरकार ने भारत-अमरीका उड्डयन सुरक्षा समूह की बैठक सहित ऐसे सभी अवसरों पर इस बात पर बल दिया है कि यद्यपि वह प्रत्येक देश द्वारा उनके अपने-अपने हवाई अड्डों पर अपेक्षित सुरक्षा प्रक्रियाओं का सम्मान करता है, परंतु यह इस प्रकार किया जाना चाहिए ताकि इससे वास्तविक यात्रियों को कोई असुविधा न हो, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मान्य राजनयिक शिष्टाचारों एवं विशेषाधिकारों को ध्यान में रखा जाए और यात्रियों की सांस्कृतिक एवं धार्मिक भावनाओं के प्रति संवेदनशील रहा जाए।

49. * The two sides appreciated recent conclusion of an MoU between Civil Aviation authorities on code shares, intermodal services, routing flexibility, open sky on cargo and on domestic code-sharing; the finalization of the text of the agreement on gainful employment by dependent family members of the diplomatic staff; noted ongoing negotiations on waiver of visas for diplomatic passport holders; and the decision to move forward with a bio-refinery project for production of fuel grade Ethanol, acetic acid, furfural and bio-coal from bamboo in Assam.
