1. Committed to promote further joint research partnerships, the two Prime Ministers noted with satisfaction, the planned academic exchange which would enable access for Indian scientists to the Neutron Facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxford University.

संयुक्त शोध को बढ़ावा देने के लिये प्रतिबद्ध दोनों प्रधानमंत्रियों ने एकेडमिक क्षेत्र में भावी आदान-प्रदान पर भी संतोष जताया जिससे भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों को रदरफोर्ड स्थित न्यूट्रॉन प्रयोगशाला और ऑक्सफोर्ड विश्वविद्यालय के एप्पलटन प्रयोगशाला में काम करने का मौका मिलेगा।
