1. With respect to (c), the ESC calls for the removal of unjustifiable charges collected by sea ports and the speedy abolition of the special charges levied on new boats as part of the "old for new" rule.

Sur ce dernier point, le CES demande la suppression des droits non justifiés prélevés par les ports maritimes et la suppression des contributions spéciales imposées aux bateaux neufs dans le cadre de la règle "vieux pour neuf".

2. Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I, together with Mr Sassoli and all the members of the Democratic Party within the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, would like to echo your words of solidarity towards the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, and stress that this was an abominable, unacceptable and unjustifiable act.

Monsieur le Président, Mesdames et Messieurs, je m'associe, à l'instar de M. Sassoli et de l'ensemble des députés du parti démocratique au sein du groupe de l'Alliance progressiste des Socialistes et Démocrates au Parlement européen, à vos propos concernant la solidarité envers le Premier ministre italien, M. Silvio Berlusconi, et je trouve qu'un tel acte est abominable, inacceptable et injustifiable.
