The invention relates to a method for producing ethyldimethylamine and triethylamine, comprising the steps of (i) reacting a mixture from diethylamine and dimethylamine with ethylene in the presence of a catalyst from the group of the alkalimetal dimethylamides, alkalimetal diethylamides and alkalimetal hydrides, (ii) removing the catalyst, (iii) separating by distillation the obtained mixture into triethylamine and ethyldimethylamine and optionally diethylamine and dimethylamine, (iv) optionally returning the catalyst and the educt amines to the reaction.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'éthyldiméthylamine et de triéthylamine comprenant les étapes consistant à : (i) faire réagir un mélange constitué de diéthylamine et de diméthylamine avec de l'éthylène en présence d'un catalyseur issu du groupe des diméthylamides de métaux alcalins, des diéthylamides de métaux alcalins et des hydrures de métaux alcalins ; (ii) retirer le catalyseur ; (iii) séparer le mélange résultant par distillation de façon à obtenir de la triéthylamine et de l'éthyldiméthylamine et éventuellement de la diéthylamine et de la diméthylamine ; (iv) éventuellement réintroduire le catalyseur ainsi que les amines de type éduit dans la réaction.
