The present observations indicate that: thymoma can arise in the thyroid gland presumably from aberrant thymic tissue, mimicking squamous cell carcinoma; and the prognosis of thymoma is favorable. Therefore, it is important to discriminate thymoma from squamous cell carcinoma of the thyroid, which is usually fatal.

Ces observations permettent d'affirmer que: le thymome peut se développer au sein de la thyroïde probablement au niveau d'un foyer ectopique du thymus et simuler le cancer épidermoïde, et le pronostic des thymomes est favorable et qu'il est par conséquent très important de distinguer les deux affections.
