1. Alginic acid, obtained from Sargassum brown algae that drift from the Sargasso Sea to beaches in Cuba, has been examined as an aqueous solution by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, and also in the solid state by MAS 13C NMR spectroscopy.

On a fait appel à la RMN du 1H et du 13C en solutions aqueuses et de la RMN «MAS» du 13C à l'état solide pour étudier l'acide alginique obtenu d'algues brunes du type Sargassum qui vont à la dérive de la mer des Sargasses jusqu'aux plages de Cuba.

2. The nighttime (N) and daytime (D) size–depth distributions of mesopelagic fish at Ocean Acre, a typical deepwater site in the North Sargasso Sea, are described using archival discrete-depth data from the surface to about 1500 m.
