The consultant, Mr Paul Edgar, gave an introduction to the following five draft action plans to be discussed, and which were prepared in 2004 and 2005: Action Plan for the Conservation of the Italian Agile Frog Rana latastei in Europe; Action Plan for the Conservation of the Crested Newt Triturus cristatus Species Complex in Europe; Action Plan for the Conservation of the Meadow Viper Vipera ursinii in Europe; Action Plan for the Conservation of the Aesculapian Snake Zamenis longissimus in Europe; and Action Plan for the Conservation of the Sand Lizard Lacerta agilis in Northwest Europe.
