The ensuing differences of assessment on the part of the competent authorities are difficult to reconcile with the need for uniform application of Regulation No 1/2005 and with the other objectives pursued by that regulation alongside protection of animals during transport, namely eliminating technical barriers to trade in live animals and allowing market organisations to operate smoothly. Les divergences d’appréciation de la part des autorités compétentes qui s’ensuivraient nous paraissent difficilement compatibles avec l’impératif d’application uniforme du règlement no 1/2005, de même qu’avec les autres objectifs que ce règlement poursuit, à côté de celui de protection des animaux en cours de transport, à savoir l’élimination des entraves techniques aux échanges d’animaux vivants et le bon fonctionnement des organisations de marché (9).
