1. It appears offhand that the change of Government which occurred in Yugoslavia in the autumn of 2000 has made it easier for the international community to accept that State, albeit not before it had applied for admission to the United Nations, as it had been called upon to do.

En apparence du moins, le changement de gouvernement intervenu en Yougoslavie à l’automne 2000 a favorisé l’acceptation de cet État par la communauté internationale, non sans qu’auparavant celui-ci ait demandé – comme on le lui avait imposé – à être admis à l’Organisation des Nations Unies.
