In a particular embodiment, the invention provides a method for determining whether a subject with multiple myeloma is likely to respond to a treatment with a proteasome inhibitor wherein the method comprises the step of performing, on a sample from the subject, a gene expression analysis of a number of N genes selected from the group consisting of the genes NUAK1, ITGB7, AGMAT, TFAP2C, CCDC85A, CLEC7A, TMEM37, RNF144A, and CMPK2, wherein N is at least 2and wherein it is concluded that the subject is likely to respond to a treatment with a proteasome inhibitor in case that at least 2 of said N genes are aberrantly expressed.

Dans un mode de réalisation particulier, l'invention concerne un procédé permettant de déterminer si un sujet atteint de myélome multiple est susceptible de répondre à un traitement avec un inhibiteur de protéasome. Le procédé comprend l'étape consistant à effectuer, sur un échantillon provenant du sujet, une analyse d'expression génique d'un certain nombre de N gènes sélectionnés parmi le groupe constitué des gènes NUAK1, ITGB7, AGMAT, TFAP2C, CCDC85A, CLEC7A, TMEM37, RNF144A, et CMPK2, N étant au moins 2 et le sujet étant conclu d'être susceptible de répondre à un traitement avec un inhibiteur du protéasome dans le cas où au moins 2 desdits N gènes sont exprimés de manière aberrante.
