1. Psalm 150, which we have just proclaimed, rings out for the second time in the Liturgy of Lauds: a festive hymn, an "alleluia" to the rhythm of music.

3. Before the Gospel reading, in place of the "Alleluia" sung at every other Liturgy of the year, is a prokeimenon during which, in the Russian tradition, all vestments and decorations of the church are quickly and dramatically changed from black to white.

Avant la lecture de l'Évangile, à la place de l'« Alléluia » que l'on chante tout le reste de l'année, on chante un prokeimenon au cours duquel, dans la tradition russe, tous les habits, voiles et décorations de l'église sont rapidement et spectaculairement changés du noir au blanc.

4. In the liturgy for the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, he is credited with gathering the prayers of the faithful, making a garland of such prayers, and then "adjuring them to ascend as an orb to the supreme King of Kings".

Dans la liturgie pour le Souccot, il est celui qui rassemble les prières des croyants, en faisant une guirlande de ces prières, et ensuite " les implore de s’élever comme un orbe au suprême roi des rois ".

5. Given that the beauty of the liturgy "is no mere aestheticism, but the concrete way in which the truth of God's love in Christ encounters us, attracts us and delights us" (Sacramentum Caritatis, n. 35), it is important that the Eucharistic celebration manifest and communicate, through the sacramental signs, the divine life and reveal the true face of the Church to the men and women of this City.

Etant donné que la beauté de la liturgie "n'est pas pur esthétisme, mais modalité par laquelle la vérité de l'amour de Dieu, manifesté dans le Christ, nous rejoint, nous fascine et nous emporte" (Sacramentum caritatis, n. 35), il est important que la célébration eucharistique manifeste, communique, à travers les signes sacramentaux, la vie divine et révèle aux hommes et aux femmes de cette ville le vrai visage de l'Eglise.
