1. And if there are any among you who aspire after their own aggrandizement, and seek their own opulence, while their brethren are groaning in poverty, and are under sore trials and temptations, they cannot be benefited by the intercession of the Holy Spirit, which maketh intercession for us day and night with groanings that cannot be uttered [see Romans 8:26].

Et si, parmi vous, certains aspirent à avoir plus de pouvoir et d’honneur, s’ils recherchent la richesse alors que leurs frères souffrent dans la pauvreté et supportent de dures épreuves et tentations, ils ne peuvent bénéficier de l’intercession du Saint-Esprit, lui qui intercède en notre faveur jour et nuit avec des soupirs inexprimables [voir Romains 8:26].

His Beatitude often wished that the spiritual charisma of this great Saint should become an example for pastors and for the faithful, certain that in St Gregory of Narek each one could come to know the wonders that the Lord is capable of accomplishing in a heart that opens to Him, in the simplicity and daily abasement, thereby sharing in the turmoil of humanity through a constant intercession.

Sa Béatitude a souvent souhaité que le rayonnement spirituel de ce grand saint devienne un exemple pour les pasteurs et les fidèles, certain qu’en saint Grégoire de Narek chacun puisse connaître les merveilles que le Seigneur est capable d’accomplir dans le cœur qui s’ouvre à Lui, dans la simplicité et l’abaissement du quotidien, devenant ainsi solidaire du drame de l’humanité par une intercession sans trêve.
