1. According to article 257, an arrest may also be ordered by the criminal police authorities, in situations other than flagrante delicto, if the conditions for pre-trial detention apply in the case in question, if there are grounds for fearing the person may abscond and if it is impossible, for reasons of urgency and the risk of undue delay, to wait for the judicial authority to intervene.

L’article 257 détermine que les autorités de police criminelle peuvent aussi ordonner la détention, hors des situations de flagrant délit, si la détention préventive est admissible dans le cas d’espèce, s’il existe des éléments fondant la crainte de fuite et s’il n’est pas possible, en raison de l’urgence et du danger d’un retard, d’attendre l’intervention de l’autorité judiciaire.
