4. This aerial battle, which took place during the summer of 1940, not only represented a turning point of the Second World War, but also the baptism by fire for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). To mark this 65th anniversary, the RCAF Ensign was raised on Monday, 12 September, at Memorial Square in Barrie.
