1. Stressed ducklings exhibited signs of the General Adaptation Syndrome; namely, involution of the bursae of Fabricius and thymus glands, hypertrophy of the adrenal glands (except in those birds injected with cortisone), and retardation of growth.

Les canetons qui ont subi le stress manifestaient des symptomes du "syndrome d'adaptation générale", notamment l'involution de la bourse de Fabricius et du thymus, l'hypertrophie des glandes surrénales (sauf chez les oiseaux traités à la cortisone) et le ralentissement de la croissance.
