4. Especially incomplete dislocations of the upper end of the femur combined with a shallow, steep and short acetabulum can be corrected by Chiari's osteotomy of the pelvis with good results. The acetabuloplasty seems to be mainly indicated for the steep, extended acetabulum whereas in more distinct subluxation the results do not always satisfy initially.
