1. As regards the decisions taken by the Council at its budget meeting, on 27 November, these bear the mark of the discussions that I have just alluded to, and which gave rise to important agreements. On the one hand, these provided for compliance with the principles of rigour and budgetary discipline fixed from the very start by the Council, and on the other hand, they took into account of the results of the European Council on employment.

Was die vom "Haushalts" -Rat am 27. November gefaßten Beschlüsse anbelangt, so sind diese von den Beratungen geprägt, von denen ich soeben sprach, und die vor allem zu wichtigen Übereinkommen führten, durch die es einerseits möglich war, die von Anfang an vom Rat festgelegten Grundsätze der Sparsamkeit und der Haushaltsdisziplin einzuhalten und auf der anderen Seite den Ergebnissen des Beschäftigungsgipfels des Europäischen Rates Rechnung zu tragen.
