Als besondere Kennzeichen stellten sich eine typische Haufenbildung der Tumorzellen (Konkretion=dichte Zusammenlagerung, oft fingerförmige Lagerung oder Rosettenbildung) mit hyperchromatischen Zellkernen, Tumorzellen in der Größe von Alveolarmakrophagen oder größer, wenig streuende Kern-Zytoplasma-Relationen (Mittelwert 0,675; Standardabweichung 0,100) bei beträchtlicher Zellpolymorphie, Fältelung der Kernmembran und Zeichen phagozytischer Aktivität (Vakuolisierung, exzentrische Kernposition und Erythrophagie) heraus.
