Based on the profiles of aldolase isozyme, the tumours tested seemed to be classified into two groups: those with a higher activity of aldolase C in A-C set (astrocytomas such as mixed type with oligodendroglioma, plump cell type and somewhat anaplastic type) and those with a rather low to no detectable activity of aldolase C in A-C set (malignant glioma, neuroblastoma, neurinoma, meningioma, pituitary adenoma, pinealoma, craniopharyngioma, secondary carcinoma).
