1. To study chronic megakaryocytic-granulocytic myelosis, bone marrow biopsies from 5 patients were obtained.

2. Megakaryocytes from a case of aleukemic megakaryocytic myelosis were examined by electron microscope.

Elektronenmikroskopisch erhobene Befunde im Knochenmark bei einem Fall einer klinisch und histologisch gesicherten aleukämischen, megakaryozytären Myelose werden mitgeteilt.

3. These cases of CMPD break down into the main groups as follows: CML 23.2 %, megakaryocytic myelosis consistent with agnogenic myeloid metaplasia 22.3 %, essential thrombocythemia 22.1 %, and polycythemia vera 20.4 %; 12.0 % of cases were unclassifiable.

Die diagnostischen Biopsien dieser 2331 Patienten verteilen sich auf die 4 Hauptgruppen der CMPD wie folgt: CML 23,2 %; primäre Thrombozythämie 22,1 %; echte Polyzythämie 20,4 %; Chronische megakaryozytäre granulozytäre Myelose 22,3 %, und unklassifizierbare Fälle 12 %.

In 5 cases of polycythaemia vera and 2 cases with other myeloproliferative disorders accompanied by thrombocythaemia (megakaryocytic myelosis), the megakaryocytes were differentiated and studied by use of the combined application of cytophoto-metric determination of the DNA content and autoradiography with tritiated thymidine (3H-TdR) in vitro.

Die Polyploidisierung der Megakaryozyten wurde bei 5 Patienten mit Polycythaemia vera und bei 2 Patienten mit einem myeloproliferativen Syndrom, das mit einer starken Thrombozytose einherging (megakaryozytäre Myelose), mit Hilfe der Kombination von zytophotometrischer Bestimmung des DNA-Gehalts und Autoradiographie mit tritiiertem Thymidin (3H-TdR) in vitro untersucht.

A total of 130 diagnostic biopsies from 29 cases of chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML.CT), 26 cases of (CML.MI), 28 of essential thrombocythemia (PTH), 26 cases of chronic megakaryocytic granulocytic myelosis (CMGM), and 21 of polycythemia vera (P. vera), and 30 from healthy control persons were evaluated morphometrically in sections of undecalcified plastic-embedded core biopsies.

Eine Gesamtzahl von 130 Biopsien, unterteilt in 29 Fälle von CML ohne Megakaryozytenvermehrung (CML.CT), 26 Fälle von CML mit Megakaryozytenvermehrung (CML.MI), 28 Fälle von essentieller Thrombozythämie (PTH), 26 Fälle von chronischer megakaryozytär-granulozytärer Myelose (CMGM) und 21 Fälle von Polycythämia vera (P. vera) sowie eine Anzahl von 30 Kontrollbiopsien gesunder Personen wurden morphometrisch untersucht in Schnitten von nicht entkalkten, in Plastik eingebetteten Knochenmarkbiopsien.
