1. The use of synthetic meshes and acellular dermal matrices to extend the pectoralis major muscle and cover the implant can optimize the immediate reconstruction after skin-sparing mastectomy.

2. We prefer simple mastectomy for stage I and ablatio mammae (method of Rotter-Halsted) for stage II to extirpate as precisely as poBible the lymph nodes of the apex and the interpectoral nodes.

Ergibt sich dabei ein Stadium I, so wird lediglich die einfache Mastektomie durchgeführt. Im Stadium II wird nach Rotter-Halsted mit präziser Ausräumung auch der Apex und der interpektoralen Lymphknoten operiert.
