2. The combined modality approach with combination chemotherapy (“COMB” or “BACO”) and radiotherapy was used in a pilot study comprising 35 evaluable patients with inoperable small-cell anaplastic carcinoma of the lung.

Von 35 auswertbaren Patienten mit histologisch gesichertem kleinzelligen, inoperablen Bronchialcarcinom wurden 9 zunächst nach dem „BACO“ und 26 nach dem „COMB“ Polychemotherapieschema behandelt.

3. Therapeutic and toxic effects of Amethopterin and of 5-fluoro-2′-deoxyuridine, administered as continuous intraarterial infusion, were investigated in 48 patients with inoperable cancer of the maxillary and mandibular region, the oral mucosa, the tongue, the postnasal space and the cervix.

Therapeutische und toxische Wirkung von Amethopterin und 5-Fluor-2′-desoxyuridin, verabreicht als intraarterielle Dauerinfusion, wurden bei 48 Kranken mit inoperablen bösartigen Geschwülsten der Ober- und Unterkieferregion, der Mundhöhle, der Zunge, des Nasopharynx und der Cervix untersucht.

4. Five indications for irradiation are currently recognised: adjuvant irradiation of the inguinal regions following wide excision; adjuvant irradiation where the margins of resection are histologically positive; adjuvant irradiation after debulking tumorectomy; neoadjuvant irradiation for primarily inoperable disease; curative salvage irradiation following postoperative recurrence.

Heute bestehen 5 Bestrahlungsindikationen: adjuvante Bestrahlung der Leisten nach “wide excision”, adjuvante Bestrahlung bei histologisch positivem Resektionsrand, adjuvante Bestrahlung nach Debulking-Tumorektomie, neoadjuvante Bestrahlung bei primär inoperablem Befund, kurative Salvage-Bestrahlung nach postoperativem Rezidiv.

5. Among them we found 7 patients with benign soft tissue tumors, 5 patients with anal fistulas, 1 patient with an abscess on the pelvic wall, 1 patient with a rectocele, 1 patient with an inoperable, restrictive oesophageal carcinoma, and 8 patients with metastatic lesions in the liver.

Hierbei handelt es sich um 7 Patientent mit einem Weichteiltumor, 5 Patienten mit einer perianalen Fistel, einer Patientin mit einem sacralen Abszeß bei Gardner-Syndrom, einer Patientin mit einer hinteren Rektozele, einem Patienten mit einem inoperablen Ösophagustumor und 8 Patienten mit metachronen Metastasen kolorektaler Karzinome.
