1. When the defoliated shoot was treated apically with IAA-paste (0,1%), on the horizontal klinostat also the untreated leafy shoot showed a strong epinastic curvature, which could only be explained by an acropetal transport of IAA to the leaves.

Die Reaktionen dieses Seitensprosses auf dem Klinostaten waren nur mit einem durch die Blätter verursachten, akropetal verlaufenden IES-Transport vom Applikationsort bis zu den Blättern zu erklären.

2. TIBA-paste (1%) did not block this transport, but if the experiments were made in air of 100% humidity this acropetal transport of IAA did not appear.

Die IES-Leitung konnte durch TIBA nicht blockiert werden, ein aktiver Transportmechanismus schiedet also aus.

3. After 2 and 4 days the contents of indoleacetic acid (IAA) and abscisic acid (ABA) of the apical parts (apical bud including the 5th internode) and of the basal parts (3rd and 4th internode and leaves) were estimated by means of paper chromatography of ether extracts and bioassay with avena coleoptile segments.

Nach 2 und 4 Tagen wurden die Sproßspitzen und die im Wachstum nicht beeinflußten Sproßbasen getrennt auf ihren Gehalt an Indol-3-essigsäure (IES) und Abscisinsäure (ABS) untersucht.
