1. During the Labour Party split in the early 1950s, Taylor sided with the left and Aneurin Bevan, opposing German rearmament and the development of the Hydrogen bomb.

Als sich die Labour Party zu Beginn der 1950er Jahre spaltete, schlug sich Taylor auf die Seite der Linken und Aneurin Bevan, die sich gegen die Wiederbewaffnung Deutschlands und die Entwicklung der Wasserstoffbombe wandte.
