The treatment of the giant ameba Chaos chaos with solutions of enzymes (lysozyme, digestive juice of Helix, hyaluronidase) results in a higher permeability of the cell membrane for osmiumtetroxyde. After this improved fixation method it is possible to reveal the groundplasm and its plasmafilaments in giant amebas, without being forced to destroy the cell membrane before or at the moment of fixation.

Eine Vorbehandlung der Riesenamöbe Chaos chaos mit verschiedenen Enzymlösungen (Lysozym, Verdauungssaft von Helix, Hyaluronidase) ermöglicht ein schnelleres Eindringen des Fixierungsmittels und die Darstellung von Grund-plasma und Plasmafilamenten im Cytoplasma dieses Organismus, ohne daß vor der Fixation eine mechanische Zerstörung der Zellmembran vorgenommen werden muß.
