1. 12 And it came to pass that there were many of the a people of Ammon, who were Lamanites by birth, did also go forth into this land.

2. Alma described this part of the Savior’s Atonement: “And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people” (Alma 7:11; also see 2 Nephi 9:21).
