Das Nephropathiescreening beinhaltet eine jährliche Bestimmung von Albuminurie und glomerulärer Filtrationsrate (GFR).

2. After having detected albuminuria or reduced GFR, renal ultrasound imaging and microscopic examination of the urine sediment is necessary.

Bei Nachweis einer Albuminurie oder einer verminderten GFR sollten eine Nierensonographie sowie eine Harnmikroskopie folgen, an die sich eine weitere nephrologischen Abklärung anschließen kann.
