Die Differentialdiagnose, die humoralen Veränderungen—einzig die Hypergammaglobulinämie erscheint charakteristisch—und die histopathologischen Läsionen insbesondere des Zentralnervensystems (Ependymitis granularis und arteritische Veränderungen) werden dargestellt und die Aetiologie wird besprochen.

2. While in Amphioxus (Branchiostoma lanceolatum) there is only one uniform type of ependymal gliocytes, already in cyclostomes astrocytes, oligodendrocytes and mesoglia cells can be observed.

Finden sich bei dem Acranier Branchiostoma lanceolatum nur ependymale Gliazellen, so sind bereits bei den Cyclostomen Astrocyten (und auch Oligodendrocyten und Mesogliazellen) zu beobachten.

Im Kern fallen stabförmige Tubuli-Bündel auf, die wir — hier wie bei den Ependymzellen, wo sie noch häufiger und meist paarig auftreten — mit einem amitotischen Teilungsprozeß in Verbindung bringen.

The fact is discussed that the secretion of the subcommissural organ is in contact with the fluid-containing spaces of the meninx primitiva, not only in the region of the ramified ends of Reissner's fibre but also in the region of the ependymal processes. The material of Reissner's fibre is demonstrable between the parietal cells of the ampulla.

Diskutiert wird die Tatsache, daß das Sekret des Subcommissuralorgans sowohl am aufgesplitterten Ende des Reissnerschen Fadens (dessen Material zwischen den Wandzellen der Ampulle nachweisbar ist) als auch in den Ependymfortsätzen eine Beziehung zu den flüssigkeitsgefüllten Räumen der Meninx primitiva gewinnt.
