1. The real risk is rather that the Convention draft becomes amended to the point where, cumulatively, almost accidentally, the ambition and the attractiveness of the constitution dwindles and the singular opportunity of clarifying and developing the Union provided by drafting a constitution slips away.

Eine echte Gefahr besteht vielmehr darin, dass der Entwurf des Konvents so stark verändert wird, dass sozusagen als Begleiterscheinung all der Änderungen das Ziel verwässert wird und die Attraktivität der Verfassung abnimmt und damit die einmalige Gelegenheit verspielt wird, die Union auf ein klareres Fundament zu stellen und weiterzuentwickeln, wie sie die Ausarbeitung einer Verfassung bietet.
