1. The latter mentioned dermatophyte is the anamorph species of the teleomorph Arthroderma benhamiae, which originally was isolated in the Far East (Japan).

Bei letzterem Dermatophyten handelt es sich um die anamorphe Spezies der teleomorphen Art Arthroderma benhamiae, der ursprünglich in Fernost (Japan) beschrieben worden ist.

2. In distinct areas of Germany, the zoophilic dermatophyte Trichophyton (T.) anamorph of Arthroderma (A.) benhamiae also presents a frequent and emerging causative agent of dermatophytoses.

Der ebenfalls zoophile Dermatophyt Trichophyton (T.) Spezies von Arthroderma (A.) benhamiae ist in bestimmten Regionen von Deutschland ebenfalls ein sehr häufiger und neuer Erreger von Dermatophytosen.

3. Nail specimens and skin scrapings were investigated for fungi using Blancophor® preparation, and cultured. In addition to conventional diagnostics, PCR (polymerase chain reaction) for detection of dermatophyte DNA was employed.

Zusätzlich zur konventionellen Diagnostik der Nagelspäne und Hautschuppen mittels Nativpräparat mit Blancophor® und Pilzkulturen wurde ein PCR (Polymerasekettenreaktion)-ELISA-Test zum Direktnachweis von Dermatophyten-DNS durchgeführt.
