1. In 1420, under the protection of Guido Gonzaga, Canon of the Cathedral and Commendatory Abbot of San Benedetto, a small group of Saint Jerome hermit monks founded a monastery in the area where the Parcarello stream curves and flows into Mantua’s Lake Superiore.

Unter dem Schutz von Guido Gonzaga, Domherr der Kathedrale und Abt von San Benedetto, gründete eine kleine Gruppe Einsiedlermönche von S. Girolamo im Jahre 1420 ein Kloster in der Biegung eines Wasserlaufs, das sogenannte ‚Parcarello’, an den Obersee von Mantua angrenzend.
