2. Als Folge der Abdankung und des Verzichts auf die Thronfolge des Großherzogs Friedrich August von Oldenburg vom 11. November 1918 wurde aus dem Fürstentum Birkenfeld nunmehr der Landesteil Birkenfeld (Provinz).
