서동―요(薯童謠)[명사]신라 진평왕 때 서동(薯童:뒷날의 백제 무왕)이 지었다는 우리나라 최초의 4구체 향가. 서동이 진평왕의 딸인 선화 공주를 사모하던 끝에 아내로 맞기 위해 이 노래를 지어 아이들로 하여금 부르게 하였다고 함.
